Hello lovely people,
Let's jump right in and talk about products from the ordinary company. I found that when I bought their products, they have plenty of information on what is in the products but there isn't a lot of instruction on exactly how to use their products. Now, I must disclose that I am not a skin care specialist and the information that I provide on this blog post is through my own research and personal experience. I use four of the ordinary company's products: the Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution, The 100% Plant-derived Squalane, the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and the Lactic Acid 10% HA.
Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution (night time)
The toning solution is a chemical exfoliant. The glycolic acid is the key ingredient that removes the outermost dead skin cells. This will result in your skin appear brighter and with a more even tone.
How I use it:
- It is step 2 in my night time skin care routine
- After cleansing, I let my skin air dry
- Use the toner on my face, neck, and chest
- Then I proceed with the rest of my routine
- I only use this twice a week. usually Monday's and Thursdays.
The 100% plant-derived squalane (night time)
Squalane is a saturated stable hydrocarbon that's already found in your skin. This product hydrates the skin and is also non-comedogenic which means that it is suitable for all skin types. It balances the oil production and acts as an anti-inflammatory.
How I use it:
- This is step three in my night time skin care routine
- After toning, I gently pat the oil on my face, neck, and chest.
- Then I proceed with the rest of my routine.
Hydluroic Acid 2% +B5 (day time)
This is an oil-free hydrating serum. Hyaluronic Acid is a gel-like substance that helps you retain an immense amount of water in your skin cells. This means its penetrating action goes beneath the first layer of your skin, hydrating the inner cells. It helps to keep your skin healthy and hydrated. It helps your skin stay elastic and it has anti-inflammatory properties. This helps with wound healing and hydration.
How I use it:
- I use this during my morning routine
- After toning, when my skin is still slightly damp, I pat the solution on my face, neck, and chest.
Lactic Acid 10% HA (night time)
I use the lactic acid as a spot treatment and to fade dark spots on my skin. Getting dark marks on your skin is a natural step of the healing process. It is how your skin naturally responds to the wound caused by the pimple. the lactic acid speeds up the process of skin cell generation process. It has fast result in skin exfoliation so applying suncream is not optional but mandatory.
How I use it:
- Right after regular toning, I apply it to the areas that have pimples or dark spots.
- I do not use it on the days that I use the Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution
- after I apply the solution I let it dry and proceed with the rest of my routine.
