What is the ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5?
It is essentially an oil free hydrating serum. Hyaluronic Acid is a gel like substance that helps you retain an immense amount of water in your skin cells. This means its penetrating action goes beneath the first layer of your skin, hydrating the inner cells.
It helps to keep your skin healthy and hydrated. It helps you skin stay elastic and it has anti-inflammatory properties. This helps with wound healing. So, you see those dark spots you’re trying to get rid of with things like lemon? Stop. You are damaging your skin. Start using hydrating products.
Why. Do we need extra Hyaluronic Acid?
Every single person already has Hyaluronic Acid in their system. But we only have a small amount of it. 1/3 of the natural Hyaluronic Acid that we produce gets degraded and synthesised every single day. Just like vitamins, our bodies sometimes don’t produce as much as we need. So we get a little help from supplements and other products. And just like the vitamins in our bodies, as we grow older (age) we begin to produce less and less of what we need.
Why ordinary?
Of course the Ordinary Company aren’t the only company who produce Hyaluronic Acid. So I found myself asking many people, why specifically this company then? Firstly, it’s VEGAN. Meaning its not tested on animals ( cruelty free) and does not contain any animal substances. Its alcohol free, oil free, silicon free, nut free gluten free and again CRUELTY FREE. These points are very important because a lot of these substances will be found in other skin care products causing people to breakout. Because you are either allergic to them or your skin is sensitive to them.

I love this product, one of my favourites and a staple product for sure. I found that it’s best applied when your skin is still damp from using your toner or right after cleansing (if you don’t tone). If you have dehydrated skin, hydrating is essential! This product holds up to 1000 times its weight in water which means your skin will be super glowy and balanced. Also there’s no such thing as too much hydration so try using products that contain HA like your moisturiser or even another serum or cleanser and get that baby soft skin you deserve.

Yes!!! I love love it, my skin’s usually quite dry and other brands didn’t really fully tackle it but this works so well! My only problem would probably be the consistency when mixed with some other products, i.e the ordinary vitamin c solution that i’m using at the moment because it starts to solidify slightly and leave residue. Other than that, this is definitely the best HA i’ve used so far.

Been using it on my skin for a month and in the UK it’s amazing my skin doesn’t dry out quick which for someone with eczema is amazing during the winter months I’ll see how it works in this humid weather during the holidays

Yessss. I think it’s super hydrating and helps smoothen the texture of my skin. It also helps with my pores I don’t mind being referenced.
